The Division of Information and Operations (DIO) along with Metropolitan Area Building and Construction Department (MABCD) has pursued the filling of an IT Architect (Programmer) with strong programming / development / application support skills. To bring in an experienced IT Architect who can be immediately effective can require hiring above the minimum pay grade. The individual in this position is primarily responsible for system support, development, & enhancements for Hansen 8, using SQL/ASP.net/VB.Net/Visual Studio. The position will be responsible for writing functional specifications and leading the migrating of the Hansen 8 system from the City of Wichita to County infrastructure, creating efficiency and ensuring that the MABCD systems operate as they should.
Recently, an IT position within the City of Wichita involved with the initial implementation and higher level support of the Hansen 8 system had resigned to pursue other opportunities. This position will be replacing that role that previously existed in the City of Wichita. The potential candidate brings 23 years of experience in the IT field, as well as experience with Hansen 8 and the required programming experience to both support and enhance the system.
Alternatives: Do not offer a salary above minimum and continue the search for a qualified IT Architect.
Financial Considerations: The requested starting salary to fill this vacancy is $85,000, along with an immediately available vacation leave of 10 days, and sick leave of 10 days. Actual annual costs to the General Fund for this position will be reimbursed from MABCD fee revenues at the end of each year, with the position assigned to cost center 42004-110.
