Recommended Action: Approve the CIP Amendment.
Construction of this project began in 2009. The project received federal funding which is applied at the rate of 80% for eligible project elements. The original contract amount was $9,329,869.85. Based on KDOT's project estimates in 2009, the county share was budgeted at $2,986,521.00.
The project was completed in 2010 and as is typical of federally funded highway projects, we have just now received final billing for our share of the project. The final billing takes into account all change orders that occurred on the project as well as final determinations of project elements deemed by KDOT to be ineligible for federal funding or "non-participating" items. Additional funding in the amount of $375,450.69 is needed to close out the project.
The amendment can be funded by transferring unencumbered budget from projects that have been completed. The amendment was reviewed and approved by the CIP Committee as well as the County Manager.
