Title
Agreement with the Valley Center High School Booster Club.

Body
Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign
This agreement between Sedgwick County and the Valley Center High School Booster Club is for controlled access to certain county roadways for the purpose of hosting the Hornet Challenge 2014 to be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 (Rain date: Sunday, August 17, 2014) from 6:00a.m. to 2:00p.m., as necessary for the 3.1 mile race/obstacle course activities.  The route is set forth on the map incorporated as Exhibit A of the agreement. For purposes of this agreement, 'controlled access' is defined as the non-exclusive use of public roadways to the extent that the use does not conflict with public safety as determined by the Sedgwick County Sheriff.  The Booster Club agrees to coordinate with the Sheriff's Office with regard to traffic control.
Financial Considerations:  No financial impact is anticipated.
Legal Considerations:  K.S.A. 19-212 vests the Board of County Commissioners with broad powers in conducting the business of the county.  The county's general police powers allow protection of the public health, safety, and general welfare of the public.  This agreement is similar to prior controlled access agreements.  A Certificate of Insurance, approved by the Office of the County Counselor, is required, and has been provided pursuant to Section 4 of the agreement.
Policy Considerations:  None
