RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the reclassification as presented and authorize the Chairman to sign the necessary paperwork.
The Sheriff's Office requests the reclassification of a position on the Department's current staffing table. The reclassification would take a Grade 122 Detention Deputy position (#20000614) to a Grade 127 Project Manager position. The position would manage construction and technology-based projects within the Office.
Alternatives: Do not authorize the reclassification, which will impair the ability of the Sheriff's Office to execute its duties.
Financial Considerations: Estimated additional cost for the reclassification is $21,286 for 2014. No additional budget authority is requested.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101. A simple majority vote is required.
