Body
On May 27, 2014, the City of Cheney filed Resolution No. 255-2014 with the County Clerk, requesting the commission find that the proposed annexation will not hinder or prevent the proper growth and development of the area, or of any other city in Sedgwick County. The proposed annexation is requested by the landowner. The property does not currently adjoin the city limits. The property is generally located between 15th St S. and US 54/400 on the east side of 383rd W. The property is approximately 117 acres, and is proposed to be developed for commercial and residential uses. Surrounding property uses include agricultural, commercial and the Sedgwick County Electric Cooperative. MAPD staff have prepared a report and are recommending the commission approve the annexation request.
