Recommended Action: Approve the amendment to the 2014 Capital Improvement Program.
Public Works has selected three off system bridges for design in 2014. The selections are based on the condition of the bridges and their eligibility for federal funding if selected in a statewide call for projects in a future year. Consultants have been selected for the projects. In order to proceed with the contracts, the CIP must be amended. The bridges are located as follows:
1. On Pawnee east of 143rd St. East.
2. On Pawnee west of 143rd St. East.
3. On Clifton south of 55th St. South.
Alternatives: Leave the 2014 budget as published and eliminate one bridge design.
Financial Considerations: The needed funds can be moved from cost savings in a CIP project that has already been completed. Sources are:

Legal Considerations: The Board of County Commissioners is authorized to amend the Capital Improvement Program under K.S.A. 19-120.
