The Kansas Council on Developmental Disabilities has presented Sedgwick County with a plaque for the partnership made between USD 259 and Sedgwick County Government as the host business site for Project SEARCH interns entering their last year of school. Project SEARCH is a high school transition program that provides training and job experience for students with developmental disabilities.  The goal of the program is to promote the development of marketable employment skills and achieve successful employment by the end of the program.  Sedgwick County has hosted 24 students at a variety of County work sites for Project SEARCH since 2012.
