Recommended Action: Approve the resolution.
The Department of Corrections is routinely presented with opportunities to provide valuable education to college students in various disciplines through student internships, practicum's and student placements. The student agreements are routinely reviewed by County legal staff and placed on the Board of County Commissioners' agenda for what has historically been routine approval. This approach sometimes requires a lengthy process and delays in the execution of such agreements. The proposed resolution would delegate signing authority for student placement agreements to the Department of Corrections Director, streamlining the process and eliminating a number of steps required for each agreement.
