Title
Resolution providing for the sale of certain real property located in Sedgwick County, Kansas.
Body
Recommended Action: Approve the Resolution and authorize the Chairman to sign.
On April 1, 2014, Sedgwick County Fire District No. 1 moved operations of Station 34 from 3914 W. 71st St., Haysville, KS, to their new location at 334 N. Main, Haysville, KS. The Fire District wishes to sell the old location (station and shop building) at open auction to maximize interest and opportunity to potential buyers; a competitive bid process to select a realtor to auction the property has been conducted. This resolution authorizes the sale of the property and authorizes staff to sign documents as necessary to effect and close the sale.
Alternatives: The BOCC could choose not to approve this resolution, in which case another method of selling the property would need to be authorized.
Financial Considerations: Proceeds from the sale of the property will be deposited into fund center 14001-240.
Legal Considerations: K.S.A 19-3601a(b) authorizes the Board of County Commissioners of Sedgwick County, Kansas, sitting as the governing body of Sedgwick County Fire District No. 1, to dispose of real and personal property owned by the Fire District.
Policy Considerations: The sale of the property follows all applicable policies and procedures.
