Title
ADOPTION OF REVISED STORM GENERATED DEBRIS REIMBURSEMENT POLICY.
Presented by: Randall C. Duncan, Emergency Management Director.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt the newly revised Storm Debris Reimbursement Policy.

Body
In November 2013, the Board of County Commissioners directed that the Storm Generated Debris Disposal Assistance Funding Policy be revised.  The revised policy accompanying this item is the result of work and consultation with staff and represents the staff recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners to consider for adoption.

Alternatives: Continue operating under the existing Storm Generated Debris Disposal Assistance Funding Policy.

Financial Considerations: If approved, this policy will reimburse units of local government in Sedgwick County for the costs incurred for collection and disposal of storm-related debris, not including labor costs for regular work schedules. Sedgwick County Finance will be responsible for payment of reimbursements upon approval of Sedgwick County Emergency Management.

Legal Considerations:  The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101, et seq. and K.S.A. 65-3410, et seq.  A simple majority is required.
