Grant Summary and Timeline: Sedgwick County Emergency Management has received notification from the Kansas Division of Emergency Management about the availability of the annual Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Program. This grant provides funding to local government emergency management agencies. The funding period for this grant is based on the calendar year beginning January 1, 2014, and ending December 31, 2014. It is anticipated that Sedgwick County will receive $93,654.00, the same amount as the 2013 award. A portion of the grant in the amount of $72,039 pays the salary and benefits of the Emergency Management Planner, which is funded from fund center 13012-257. The remainder of the funding, or $21,615, reimburses the Sedgwick County General Fund for costs associated with the operation of the Emergency Management Department, which are reflected in fund center 13001-110. This funding helps offset the costs to the County of operating the Emergency Management Department.
