Title
Amendment to the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for the Project to Replace EMS Post 9 (East) at Lincoln and Webb.

Body
Recommended Action: Approve the amendment to the 2014 Capital Improvement Program.

Background: This 2011 CIP project required significant time to acquire land, negotiate necessary property access agreements, and soliciting and awarding design work which has deferred the construction work to begin on the EMS Post. On January 14, 2014, construction bids were opened with the lowest bid from Snodgrass and Sons, Inc. in the amount of $858,800 which is $65,190 over the construction budget. The cost for the Westar Utility tap at this location is an owner funded item that was not projected in the original budget. An additional $15,000 is needed for the estimated cost of this item.

Alternatives: The BoCC may elect to not approve the amendment.
Financial Considerations: If approved, the CIP amendment will increase expenditure authority by $109,209 in the EMS Post 9 project budget. Residual expenditure authority in the EMS Post 5 project budget (fund ce...
