DONATION TO SEDGWICK COUNTY EMS FROM WALMART.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve acceptance of the donation and acknowledge Wal-Mart for their community support.

Wal-Mart Stores Incorporated have a long-established history of providing donations to local agencies to assist with projects related to local public safety agencies. Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, located at 3137 S. Seneca in Wichita, has committed a donation of $1,000.00. This donation will be used to assist with operational support of the EMS Bike Medic Program, which allows the department to respond to EMS calls during mass gatherings, such as the McConnell Air Show and the Wichita River Festival.

Financial Considerations: The amount of the donation is $1,000.00 and will be deposited in cost center 12002-258. I am requesting the $1,000.00 be given budget authority for 2014 once approved and any balance be transfered with budget authority for 2015 and subsequent years.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101. A simple majority is required.
