Body
The City of Mulvane submitted a certified copy of Resolution No. 2013-10 on January 21, 2014, requesting the Board make a finding that the proposed annexation will not hinder or prevent the proper growth and development of the area, or of any other city in Sedgwick County. This is a 1.5 acre parcel with a single family home. The land is not adjoining the current city limits. The landowners have requested annexation in order to obtain city water service an an alternative to their current use of a water well. The property is located at 8430 E. 111th Street, which is just east of Rock Rd. and the current city limits. The report states the parcel to be annexed is in the growth area designated by the Mulvane Comprehensive Plan and is consistent with the Wichita-Sedgwick County Comprehensive Plan 2030 urban growth area for Mulvane. Maintenance of 111th Street is covered by an interlocal agreement between Mulvane and Sedgwick County. The property is currently in Sedgwick County Fire District No. 1; upon annexation the property will be served by the Mulvane Fire Department. Law enforcement services are currently provided by the Sheriff, but upon annexation will be provided by the Mulvane Police Department.
