The Zoo Society Board approved this position during their November 2013 board meeting.
Alternatives: The alternative is to not create a new position.
Financial Considerations:
Salary $21,000 Benefits $21,301 Total: $42,301. The five-year funding agreement between Sedgwick County and the Zoological Society provides for a total 2014 budget allocation of $5,330,498 from the County to the Zoo. This staffing table adjustment does not change the total allocation.
Policy Considerations: Policy 4.3000 states: Departments shall not exceed the established number of budgeted positions without proper authorization, including budgeted positions for part time and temporary positions, or for short term needs to double-fill a position. The BoCC will make the final determination on all staffing table changes.
