Amendment #1 to the lease agreement with Mid American Credit Union.

Recommended Action: Approve the amendment and authorize the Chair to sign.
In February, 2009, the Board of County Commissioners approved a lease agreement with Mid American Credit Union for approximately 450 square feet of space within the County courthouse to provide quality and convenient financial services to County employees and the public. This lease agreement will expire on December 31, 2013, therefore, the proposed amendment will renew the term of the lease for an initial 3 year term with two 1 year extensions as well as adjust the lease rate to correspond with rises in utility rates in the Courthouse.
Alternatives: The BOCC could choose not to approve this amendment in which case another method of approving the amendment would need to be found.
Financial Considerations: Revenue from this lease will be placed in the County General Fund 70001-110. The lease rate included in the attached lease agreement is $680 per month, due on a quarterly basis.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101. A simple majority is required.
Policy Considerations: Approval of this lease follows established County policy.
