Financial Considerations: Construction of the rumble strips is 100 percent Federally funded. Per this agreement, Sedgwick County will provide inspection services upon completion of the project. KDOT will reimburse Sedgwick County for 80 percent of the cost of inspections. The total cost of inspections is estimated at $5,977.80, resulting in anticipated reimbursement of $4,782.24. This reimbursement will be recorded in the Inspection and Testing cost center (21006-206), G/L 33330. Inspection costs incurred by Sedgwick County related to this agreement are funded in the 2013 operating budget.
Legal Considerations: The County is authorized to enter into contracts with the Secretary of Transportation to participate in the benefits of federal aid funds under K.S.A. 68-402b.
