Title
DONATION TO BENTLEY FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THE CITY OF BENTLEY.
Presented by:  Craig Leu, Deputy Fire Chief.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:  Fulfill the request and donate a skid unit to the Bentley Fire Department and the City of Bentley.
Body
Sedgwick County Fire District 1 will replace a skid unit on one of its Squad Trucks. The Bentley Fire Department has requested the old skid unit for use in their fleet. Although Sedgwick County Fire District 1 is upgrading its skid unit, the old skid unit is still newer and in better shape than the skid unit currently used by Bentley.
The description of the unit is as follows: Hale HP 200 Pump with a 300 gallon booster tank which is commonly referred to as a skid unit. The unit has a Honda gas motor and is plumbed for 1 inch and 1.5 inch fire hose. The unit was placed into service in 2003 by the Fire District and removed from service in December of 2013. It has an estimated value of $2500.00.
The unit will be removed by Fire District Emergency Vehicle Technicians and is estimated to take 4 to 8 hours. Bentley will be responsible for the installation on its vehicle.
Attached is a letter of request from Bentley Fire and the City of Bentley for the skid and acknowledgement that they will take on all future maintenance and/or replacement costs.
